Product Description
200-pin SODIMMs are used to provide DDR and DDR2 SDRAM memory for notebook computers. To use DDR or DDR2 memory, your system motherboard must have 200-pin SODIMM slots and a DDR- or DDR2-enabled chipset A small outline dual inline memory module (SODIMM) consists of a number of memory components (usually black) that are attached to a printed circuit board (usually green). SODIMMs get their name because they are smaller and thinner than regular DIMMs. The gold pins on the bottom of the SODIMM provide a connection between the module and a socket on a larger printed circuit board. The pins on the front and back of a SODIMM are not connected. 200-pin SODIMMs are used to provide DDR and DDR2 SDRAM memory for notebook computers. 200-pin SODIMMs are available in PC2700 DDR SDRAM, PC3200 DDR SDRAM, DDR2 PC2-6400 SDRAM, DDR2 PC2-5300 SDRAM, DDR2 PC2-4200 SDRAM and DDR2 PC2-3200 SDRAM. To use DDR or DDR2 memory, your system motherboard must have 200-pin SODIMM slots and a DDR- or DDR2-enabled chipset. A DDR or DDR2 SODIMM will not fit into a standard SDRAM SODIMM socket. The number of black components on a 200-pin SODIMM can vary, but it always has 100 pins on the front and 100 pins on the back, for a total of 200. 200-pin SODIMMs are approximately 2.625 inches long and 1.25 inches high, though the heights can vary. Like 144-pin SODIMMs, 200-pin SODIMMs have one small notch within the row of pins; however, the notch on the 200-pin SODIMMs is closer to the left side of the module.

5 out of 5 stars Does its job - the laptop is a lot faster now   September 6, 2010
I bought these 2 1GB memory modules to upgrade my HP zv6000 original 512MB memory configuration. The laptop was so slow, and with the upgrade the difference in speed is phenomenal.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent memory set to upgrade the laptop   September 1, 2010
This was a great purchase for the laptop and really increased the speed of operations.
Easy to install and fit perfectly without any issues.

5 out of 5 stars Works in my Dell Inspiron   August 27, 2010
Upgraded memory from 512 to 2GB in Dell Inspiron 600M. She's an old laptop but this breathed some new life in her. Installation took less than 5 minutes. Boot up and it recognized the memory right away.

5 out of 5 stars Works with Inspiron 8600   August 25, 2010

I bought two of these to upgrade my old Dell Inspiron 8600 to 2GB of RAM which only had 512MB of RAM. The RAM comes in a package with hard plastic so you have to use heavy scissors to open it but installation into the laptop was easy just open the cover, pop out the old and insert the new. The only downside is the price, you can buy a bargain bin laptop for 500 dollars now a days.

4 out of 5 stars Installed in HP TC1100 Slate Laptop   August 23, 2010
My laptop has a 512MB memory permanently installed, so this is an additional 1GB. My system now reads 1536MB of memory so it seems to be accepted by the computer. My graphics intensive games are still running jerkily but the sound is fabulous.
