 Exactly what I needed March 8, 2010
This battery worked perfectly with my inspiron 1520. Clicked right in no problem. Great price great product.
Great, cheaper substitute March 8, 2010
While it does stick out a bit from the back of my Inspiron 1520, this battery works well and was a great replacement for the original battery I had that was dying after 2.5 years of use.
 Does not fit an Inspiron 1720 March 3, 2010

Despite their claims, this battery does NOT fit correctly in an Inspiron 1720. It is just loose enough to lose contact when I transport my laptop in its case. When I try to awake the computer from hibernation, it ALWAYS reboots completely, telling me Windows did not shut down properly. I lose all my open windows, work-in-progress,etc -- all the advantages of hibernation. Not sure about other models, but AVOID this battery for an Inspiron 1720.
Good performance and worth the money February 28, 2010
This is my first experience in buying a laptop battery and I hadn't expected it to perform very well.
I got the battery for my Vostro 1500 and i'm glad that I choose this. Although the battery does stick out the back, the performance is amazing, the battery power lasts for more almost 5hrs and thats awesome.
Its a great value for the money except for the minor thing that it protudes from the back.
1 month later, so far, so good February 25, 2010
This was my second replacement battery for my wife's Vostro 1500. The first battery lasted just over a year to make it out of warranty. I refused to pay Dell the ridiculous sum they were asking for a battery, so instead got a no-name battery off of EBay for under $50. That battery lasted all of 3 months. My wife used her laptop plugged in for a long while until we got this battery.
This battery does stick out the back, just like any other 9-cell battery, but it doesn't stick out far. More importantly it has given her PC absurd battery life. She used it for at least 4 hours straight last night with on issues (Windows 7 reported at then end of 4 hours, "Warning your battery is low, you only have 1 hour 30 minutes remaining"). I'm hoping this will last longer than the junk we got from EBay, if it does, it's a great deal.
