This battery fits my Dell 1501 perfectly. I've been using it for about a month with no problems. I'm very pleased to have found a replacement battery that rivals --maybe surpasses -- the original Dell battery and for a fragment of Dell's price.

I received my battery a few days ago from Power Direct. Got here in 2 days. It came 80% charged. I clicked it into my aging Dell Inspirion 1501. The fit was a bit snug, but clicked right in. This battery was a little heavier and larger than the original that died last year. However, it fit, and the size does not seem to affect anything. I am holding my full review until the break in (condition) period is over. The instructions on the back of the battery box state to discharge the battery (use it) then fully charge it. I am on the third initial cycle. I have not fully discharged it as it is a Lithium Ion battery and they (I am told), do not required full discharge and recharge to break them in (condition). My laptop states about 2:30 life while I am using it for picture viewing and editing (pretty good). Hoping it may go up to 3 hours if all I am doing is web surfing. So far, so good.
An affordable replacement battery for Dell E1505 March 1, 2010
I want to believe all dell e1505 were created equally. I had absolutely no problem installing this battery. It snapped right it. I don't know how come some customers have problems with that. This battery came 84% charged. I was able to charge it up to a 100% within an hour. I paid a total of $49.99 (incl shipping) for this battery. It is way cheaper compare to buying it from Dell. They wanted $155.99 for a replacement battery. My computer is no longer covered under warranty. Therefore, I am not going to spend that amount of money for an OEM. This battery work just fine for me.

My daughter's laptop battery gave out a few months ago, and she kept telling me without a battery its really not a laptop ... Its just a compact PC that cant be used unless there is an AC outlet nearby!! Looking at the laptop manufactures site and the cost for replacement batteries was a hard price to swallow for a 2.5 yr old laptop. Did a search on Amazon on a replacement battery for her laptop and found one that was about $50 (instead of $129). Ordered the battery, came in a few days later (ordered a new charger too) and the battery keeps a 3 hr charge. My daughter is happy ... I'm still her hero (life is good !!) Thanks !!!! :-)

I needed a new battery for my Dell Inspiron 1501. I looked every where to find one. This is by far the best value out there! It works perfectly and my computer is running like new!
