 This adapter causes error messages. March 9, 2010
This adapter causes error messages, will not properly charge the battery and just plain doesn't work right.
I got another genuine dell adapter and it all works fine.
don't buy it March 1, 2010
The people who supply this shouldn't advertise that it will work on a Dell laptop. I plugged it in and my laptop immediately messaged (in huge letters across the screen) that I plugged in an inappropriate power device and that it would not charge the system with this power cord. I emailed them that this unit was defective and did not hear back. The delay had me worried so I had to email amazon that I wasn't getting a response. Amazon refunded my money and THEN the vendor replied that they would send another. I said fine, give it a try. Two weeks later, nothing. I emailed and said if they weren't sending another one, then please send a call tag so I could return the one that didn't work. They said they didn't do that, and that I could send it back on my dime and they would send a postage refund. Due to the fact that they were so unresponsive on other occasions, I wasn't spending any money to return it, so it finally ended up in the garbage. By the way, they begged me not to do a negative review, but I said the truth should be told.

I ordered two of these, both were junk. They both quit working within 1 week of delivery. The return was easy through Amazon, but it still defeats the purpose of buying them.
