Please make sure the output voltage your device uses is within 15V to 24V. You can find the output voltage on your laptop or the original ac adaptor that comes with your device.2. Find the correct connector by trying to plug it in the device. We recommend plugging the connector in the device before it is plugged into the AC Adapter.3. Select the correct voltage (determined by your laptop) just by simply moving the voltage switch button with your finger.

1 out of 5 stars Not the same model pictured.   September 10, 2010
Universal Laptop Adapter shipped is not the item in the photograph. I paid a higher price for the item that I selected based on the features and what I saw in the photo. Then when the item was received, the model provided was a cheaper design that I specifically did not pick but I could have purchased cheaper from other suppliers listed on Amazon or on eBay. I have been a long-time customer and this is the first disappointment that I have had in a purchase from Amazon.

1 out of 5 stars Overheats   September 5, 2010
I was quite disappointed with this adapter. I set it to the appropriate voltage for my laptop and within 30 minutes it overheated. I am replacing it because it completely stopped working after three months of owning it. Very disappointed. I guess for $20 you get what you pay for.

1 out of 5 stars NOT universal and does NOT fit COMPAQS!!!   August 31, 2010
This charger is NOT universal and it states it will fit Compaqs...NOT! NO adapter that this comes fit Compaq Laptops. I am sending this back for a refund. Good false advertising!

1 out of 5 stars Do not buy this   August 26, 2010
I bought this in June, it took close to four weeks to get to me, and then it broke shortly less than a month later.
-> It over heats
-> The wall-box plug melted from over heating (yea, I had it plugged into a surge protector)
-> When I replaced that, when it was plugged into the lap top it would not be able to maintain a charge if any of the non-background processes were running.

If you do get it, do yourself a favor, go to radio shack and buy a new plug to go from the box to the wall, its a two prong plug, not a three prong one.

The people are great, they'll replace their products for up to a year, but it shouldn't have to be replaced after a month.

1 out of 5 stars Broken right out the box   August 24, 2010
I received the product in the mail, went to go plug it in and it wouldn't stay on. Went to see if one of the plugs were loose and the plug broke right off. Cheaply made, low quality plastic that will break with the strength of a 10 year old applied to it. BUY A DIFFERENT CHARGER! YOU WILL NOT BE HAPPY WITH THIS ONE!
