I use this as a backup for when I forget my power cord at home. so far so good, especially at the price. i had it plugged in all day on a dead battery and it seemed to perform just as good as the one that came with my sony vaio. I've had it for a month now, used it only a few times.

charger caught on fire a few months after purchase. DO NOT BUY GENERIC CHARGERS!!! Daughter got badly shocked. Could have burned my house down, along with my family...

The adapter is compatible for my Sony laptop but the part that goes into the wall has broke already. Luckily, my husband is handy and was able to buy a piece to repair it.

You get what you pay for, but I decided to purchase this even after reading the poor reviews. Keep your receipt if you do the same. The product stopped working after less than a month. This is a really low price, but not a good deal in the end. The cord held loosely in my computer from the start, and did not last long.
